I think Gordon Brown our unelected P.M. is getting desperate. He now proposes New Labour will give a referendum on proportional representation for elections.
Is this the same type of referendum that was promised before our nations sell out to the European Parliament. WE WERE DENIED THAT SO WHY BELIEVE HIM NOW?
REMEMBER THESE ARE THE SAME PEOPLE WHO DELIBERATELY AND SYSTEMATICALLY DEFRAUDED THE BRITISH PEOPLES IN THEIR EXPENSE CLAIMS.
Of course they were only claiming within THE RULES!!!!

DRILLING IN BRISTOL CHANNEL
Most of us who live on the coast within the Vale of Glamorgan could not fail but notice the drilling rig being towed up and down the Bristol Channel to different locations bu two attending support vessels.
What are they doing? Seemd to be shrouded in mistery. Well let me enlighten you. They are taking samples of the bedrock of the sea bed.
Purpose? Obvious they are identifying locations for the sighting of those monstrous wind turbines for generating electricity.
That good isn't it? Well all depends on your point of view. The simplistic argument is that we are saving the planet.
However no one has yet qulified who the 'we' are and also that these eyesores are gigantic compared to those sighted at the development of the turbines.
Also let us remember that the exercise may have less to do with Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England

VALE HOUSING STOCK TRANSFER
Many of you will have read in the local press of the proposal to transfer the Vale housing stock.
This issue spans two realms. One is the public interest, in that the stated value is £1.6million. However simple application of math seems to indicate a value of approx £30,000 only for each dwelling is very low. In the current market the value should be substantially more than stated by the council. Infact taking a very conservative value of £60,000 for each dwelling held (currently 4000) would see the value doubled!!!
Why is such a low value given to our (yes OUR as it belongs to OUR local authority)would mean the REAL cost to the rate payers in the Vale at more than £3million!!! Who are the council trying to kid!!! and why GIVE THESE AWAY AT SUCH A LOW VALUE???
The questions we need to ask are: do the local rate payers wish the council to GIVE AWAY such a valuable holding and who will reap the benefits and profits of such a transfer???
DANGER TO BALANCE OF POWER AND LOCAL DEMOCRACY: If such a transfer is made to existing social housing providers who incidentally viewed local residents that opposed the proposed housing development at Cemetery Approach as being (MINBY'S) and went further as to lambast them publically and label them with all the usual fascist labels ascribed by the wooly liberalists to those legally exercising their rights. Such a transfer under these conditions would most certainly be against the public interest! It would most certainly end with all open amenity space being built upon (for supposed local residents) and the exercising of unelected power to push through planning applications and ride rough-shod over procedures!!!!
Such a transfer of influential power would be dangerous and contrary to the mechanics of local democracy.
I myself enjoy the provision of Vale Council Housing (call it social housing if you MUST) and I have concluded quite early in the process of so called consultation that the Vale Council Officer together with local councillors view that residents of Council Housing are gullible and devoid of any intellect with which to determine the pros and cons of such a proposal.This is a grave insult to local people.
Also that the initial notification that we have been given amounts to little more than deliberately designed propaganda geared to ensure that the desired outcome is obtained and that many decisions have already been made.
Interestingly if we lived the English side of the border we as tenants would have far more rights of involvement than we enjoy under the direction of the Welsh Assembly!!!! We would have been involved in the proposal development stage before such proposals were put to council members.
POLITICS AND DISHONESTY:Such words seem to fit naturally together these days but a note of caution here to tenants to BEWARE your trust in local councillors or A.M.s. Remember the ongoing saga of the corruption and outright criminal activities of M.P.s, A.M.s. Do not think that it doesn't penetrate to local government level. Many could recall that a number of our local councillors FORGOT just to mention their involved interest with land deals and subsequent planning applications!!!!and that most councillors stick to holding party lines even to the detriment of their ward members!!!
A word on probable empire building. If a new housing association is set up then I would advocate that as the existing senior management of the current housing stock are unable to make the operation a success then they should be automatically disqualified from applying for or transfering to positions (at most likely inflated salaries) in any new housing association management structure. Should we expect failure to lead to cushy new jobs for the boys!!!
Further, the term NOT FOR PROFIT is much banded as if such organisations would operate purely out of social need. However the most rudementary knowledge will indicate that the term used in such organisations is in fact a SURPLUS. But this is one and the same thing the terms are interchangeable.PROFIT=SURPLUS.
POSSIBLE VAST INCREASES TO RENT: We have already been given subliminal information that rent levels will not change under any future new management. However this situation is only guaranteed for the current year of transfer and that after this period the organisation could set rents at what level they wished.
One scenario could be a compounded increase over say a five year period of 12% plus the current inflation rate percentage added. Thus if we assume inflation to run at 2% each of these years then this would indicate a possible 22% increase over the five year period. A possible significant increase over any given period.
Current residents need to know that governement (in our case Welsh Assembly) have powers to cap increases in rent and rates by local authorities and have done just that for 2010. But on transfer this power would cease to exist!!!
PROPERTY UPGRADING: Of course the excuse for this proposal is that the council cannot afford the cost of upgrading their current housing stock to meet minimum levels of provision as they would need to spend £60,000 on each property!!!COME OFF IT!!!.
This level of spending would indicate a proposal to spend more on each property than the council CLAIM THEY ARE CURRENTLY WORTH!!!! DO THEY THINK WE ARE THAT STUPID. Oh! yes I forget they think that as we live in council housing that we have little grey matter and only void space between our ears.
Also on another point. While I have been researching this I came across a section in a report that indicated that council tenants were more inclined to anti-social behaviour amongst other things!! Dont believe me read it for yourself. It is available on line!!!
Also from the outset by way of our being excluded from the developmental stages that other alternatives have not been developed or considered. Such as a TENANT/AUTHORITY Management Option. Or discussing with local residents on how to save monies and direct them to more urgent needs. Such as not ripping out whole heating systems when a boiler upgrade would suffice!! Or riping out double glazed windows to install (guess what) double glazed windows!!!!
PLEASE MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD. SPEAK TO YOUR LOCAL HOUSING REPRESENTATIVE, THE COUNCILLORS AND COUNCIL OFFICERS (I am sure these persons who serve us very well are not keen to lose their jobs), also A.M.s and M.P.s.
